Why you should schedule posts
One of the best features of Facebook groups is the ability to schedule posts. With a little bit of planning and prep work you can schedule a full month’s worth (or more) of posts in far less time than if you add the posts manually each day. Most groups at a minimum will have a countdown post each week and it is much easier to schedule a full month’s worth than remember at 7am each Saturday to post the countdown image.
Another benefit is that you can maintain a consistent schedule with regards to posts. If your group members realize that posts will be posted at a specific time, they are more likely to engage with the post. It also helps members to not post their own things around the same time so as not to overwhelm the other users.
My personal preference for scheduling posts is to figure out something to post each day of the week. While this does require more upfront work, it has saved me countless hours. At a minimum I like to have a weekly countdown post on the day of the week we set sail and Tink’s Tips (typically on Tuesday unless that’s embarkation day)
If you look at our other guides you will see several other ideas such as trivia, Disney Drinks, voting brackets and more. All of these are made substantially easier by scheduling your posts.
